Summer Ministry Team Opportunities

The staff theme for our 2009 camp season is "What the Bible teaches about Man"

The following positions are available for application

All of the positions are for the period of June 27th to September 4th.  If you can  work part of the summer or one week we would still love to have you join our team!

Head Cook
The Head Cook will be responsible for the food preparation for the week and will report to the Kitchen Coordinator and will customize the menu for the week with her.  You will be responsible for organizing the preparation meals for approximately 100 to150 people three times a day.  If you are interested and need more information please contact us.

Assistant Cook
Will serve along side of the Head Cook and assist her when needed.  May take leadership in meal preparation as skills and needs require.

Head Counselor 
Responsible to the Camp Director.  Your ministry is to model and encourage the cabin leaders in their spiritual growth, relationships with other staff and ministry to campers including discipline issues. 

Water Front Coordinator (1)
The Water Front Coordinator is responsible for all water front activities and will supervise all swim times. The minimum requirements for this position is you must be 18 years of age and have your NLS.

Lifeguard (1)
Will guard at free swims, canoeing and swimming skills. The minimum requirements for this position is you must be 16 years of age and have your NLS.

Health Officer (1)
Will attend to minor medical instances and give advice to the director on how to handle more serious issues.  Maintains written records of each accident, illness and treatment   Must have minimum of Standard First Aid certification but qualified nurses are very much appreciated :-)

Registrar / Secretary (1)
 
With guidance from the director will run the camp office.  Duties include all communication (phone/ mail/ email/ forwarding messages), entry of camper/ staff information into databases, running off reports and preparing mailings.

Cabin Leaders (12)
 Responsible to the Head Counselors and shall have charge of the group of campers assigned.  They will eat, sleep, play and participate in all activities with their group.   It is the counselor's opportunity and responsibility to personalize ministry to each camper.  He/She becomes the spiritual inspiration and example to the campers. 

Special Needs Worker (2)
These special cabin leaders will work with a special needs child each week on a one to one basis to integrate the child into the overall camp program, adapting it as necessary to meet the child's abilities.  Experience with children diagnosed with physical / mental challenges, FAS, ADHD and other high needs will be required.  Informal training will be provided for each child.  References on your experience will be needed for this position

Kitchen Helper (4 positions)
Meal preparation and cleanup duties under the supervision of the head cook.

Maintenance Help
You will help the Site Manager in the up-keep of the facility during the summer months.
